She’s active as a jazz and classical soloist and is front woman of her own jazz fusion band, TJ’s Pretty People, with which she has performed on stages and festivals like the Bimhuis, Grachtenfestival and soon Orange Jazz Days. In 2023 she was concert master of the Jong Metropole orchestra and for this she received the Keep an Eye Outstanding Talent Award 2023. In january 2025, Teddy made her tv debut as a part of ‘Podium Klassiek’, in which she played an original jazz arrangement ‘Notes on Nimrod’ with Sven Figee. About the band
Tj’s pretty people
Violin paired with electronic effects and soulful vocals, crazy grooves, improvisation and lush soundscapes; that’s TJ’s Pretty People. Their original repertoire has flavours of 80s jazz fusion, modern jazz, neo soul and a hint of classical music. The main goal of frontwoman Teddy Sicking (aka TJ) is introducing a new violin sound into today’s jazz scene.
Some of the band’s favourite musicians and biggest inspirations are: Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Stevie Wonder, Yussef Dayes and Moonchild.
In 2026 they won the Conservatorium Talent Award under the name of Teddy Sicking, as well as the Grachtenfestival Jazz Competition. Additionally, they reached the finals of the Keep An Eye The Records 2026.
